Aster, the decentralized cryptocurrency exchange backed by Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ), came to the fore with an important development today. DeFiLlama Removes Aster from Its Platform Due to Unverifiable Volume Data DeFi data platform DeFiLlama announced that it has removed Aster from its platform citing “unverifiable $100 billion in transaction volumes.” This marks the first time DeFiLlama has delisted a protocol due to fraudulent or suspicious data. The report noted that DeFiLlama was tracking $250 billion in total value locked (TVL), and that the platform's reliability issues regarding trading volumes had dealt a serious blow. Following these data transparency concerns, Galaxy Digital reportedly transferred $12 million worth of ASTER tokens to Binance. The token's price has fallen 15.6% in the last 24 hours to $1.68, bringing its market capitalization to $2.85 billion. The token reached an all-time high of $2.42 on September 24, 2025; at its current price, it's trading around 31% below that peak.
