While the UK government continues to be cautious about Bitcoin (BTC) and cryptocurrencies, the country's crypto market has undergone a serious change. IG Group, one of the largest online trading companies listed on the London Stock Exchange, has announced that it will offer British investors direct trading services for 31 cryptocurrencies, including popular meme tokens such as Bitcoin, Ethereum (ETH), XRP, and Bonk (BONK). With this move, IG Group has become the first London Stock Exchange-listed company to offer direct cryptocurrency spot trading in the UK. Michael Healy, managing director of IG UK, said: “This move is a huge moment for IG and marks a significant milestone in the UK’s crypto journey. Customer demand reaches a turning point “Retail investors can now buy, sell and hold crypto assets with a mature business.” IG’s new move means that the company will now offer crypto spot trading to individual investors, following on from its previous offering of crypto CFD trading to institutional clients. At this point, according to the information on the IG website, the company provides its clients with the opportunity to trade CFDs on 11 major cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Cardano, Stellar (XLM), Dogecoin (DOGE), Chainlink (LINK) and more. *This is not investment advice.
