Octopus Protocol (OPSV1) is the first version of a DeFi platform on Binance Smart Chain (BSC) that enables users to create, trade, and manage synthetic assets—digital representations of assets like commodities, stocks, and cryptocurrencies. The OPSV1 token played a key role in governance, staking, and ecosystem incentives, allowing users to mint synthetic assets, trade derivatives, and manage portfolios within a non-custodial, trustless framework. With the migration to OPSV2, these functions transitioned to the new token, enhancing the protocol’s features while preserving access to its decentralized derivatives platform.
