Starknet has officially launched v0.13.4 upgrade on its testnet, introducing significant improvements to performance, fees, and developer experience. Starknet has achieved a major milestone through this update that continues its effort to boost scalability and operational efficiency. Starknet officials disclosed this information through their official X account. Starknet v0.13.4 is now live on Starknet Testnet! This new version introduces major optimizations, including:– Cairo-Native for faster smart contract execution (and lower fees over time)– L2 gas for more accurate transaction fees– Stateful compression to reduce storage costs… pic.twitter.com/iqbVxSohxq — Starknet 🐺🐱 (@Starknet) February 27, 2025 Starknet v0.13.4 Enhances Smart Contract Speed with Cairo-Native The key update in version v0.13.4 includes Cairo-Native that accelerates the execution of smart contracts. The updated Starknet features will lower the transaction costs which will eventually result in more economical user experiences. The L2 gas mechanism brings accurate fee calculation to ensure users receive proper financial transparency. Stateful compression represents the major new addition by reducing the amount of storage costs. Lower fees become available to users because of this update on Starknet. The network has undergone multiple developments to developer experience (DevX) that enables developers to work with greater efficiency on Starknet. A recent update of the software functionality is currently running on the testnet before the mainnet implementation will take place. During March 17 to March 24 Starknet is projected to launch its mainnet based on the roadmap provided. Real-world users will soon access the optimized benefits which these enhancements provide through their actual transactions. Starknet to Launch Mempool and Fee Market in Q2 2025 Starknet operates with substantial expansion goals for the year 2025 which extend past version v0.13.4. The v0.14.0 update scheduled for Q2 2025 will bring two-second block processing time with a mempool system and fee structure and distributed sequencer oversight. The upgrades target three essential performance factors which include accelerating transactions and increasing network reliability and total system efficiency. The continuous developments by Starknet make it a front-running Layer 2 solution that enhances transaction speed while maintaining low prices and boosted decentralization for users and developers.
