World Mobile has partnered with Protelindo, Indonesia’s largest digital infrastructure company, to launch World Mobile Stratospheric, a new connectivity platform. World Mobile combines telecommunications infrastructure with blockchain technology to create practical and revenue-generating solutions. The project is based on the aircraft that will use advanced radio technology that can support up to 500 000 direct mobile connections at once. The technology has been tested in the UK with British Telecom, in Europe with Deutsche Telekom, and in the Middle East. The stratospheric aircraft aims to deliver lower costs, higher bandwidth, minimal latency, and reduced environmental impact. It will also have payload capacity and endurance suitable for other applications beyond telecommunications. In the United States, where 30% of the land area is without service, 11% of people lack reliable internet, and many experience unstable connectivity, the company plans to operate as both a competitor and a partner to existing telecom providers.
